Assessment on student progress is continuous and ongoing. Assessment is integral to the teaching and learning cycle and may consist of teacher observatios, self and peer assessments, checklists, standardised formal assessments or school based class assessments.
Assessment “for” learning is collected before and during the learning process to inform teaching and give direction for learning.
Assessment “of” learning takes place at the end of a cycle of learning and provides summative information regarding student achievement.
Victorian Catholic Schools are required to provide parents with a clear written report twice a year. In 2019 schools will report on student achievement using a five-point scale.
We provide parents with written reports in June and December. In addition to these written reports, parent/teacher meetings to report on student progress are offered in February and June of each year.
