Dear Parents,
Parents play an important role in our lives – not only are they our caregivers for those first crucial decades of our lives, but they provide us with unconditional support, guidance and love.
Throughout our upbringing, parents enrich us with the foundations needed throughout life that shape us into individuals.
The value of parents and parenthood was celebrated worldwide on 1 June for Global Day of Parents.
A parent’s role is endless; parents are who we entrust and who continue to provide guidance to children no matter the age.
Sharing our gratitude to our parents for all that they have done and continue to do for us is important and is something we can do every day, not just once a year on Global Day of Parents!
Winter is here
We are in for a very cold few weeks ahead as the school holidays draw near. Lost property has many unnamed jumpers and coats as well as lunch boxes and water bottles. Please encourage your child to check for lost items or call in to sickbay next time you are at school.
Religion
The Grade 4 students are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist. As part of the preparation the students and parents attended a Presentation Mass where they were welcomed and presented to the St Paul’s Parish community.

Keeping Fit and Warm
Year 6 Sport lesson today with Mr Maher.
School Closure Day Friday 10 June
This Friday, our School Closure day focuses on developing teacher professional learning in the area of the Intervention. Staff will continue increasing development on the CECV Intervention Framework, which outlines best practice on inclusive learning and teaching, aligning teacher support with the needs and talents of students, and looking at a tiered system of support across health, wellbeing, behaviour and learning.
Staff will also use part of the day for designing and planning curriculum for Term 3, with particular focus on Inquiry learning. The Inquiry unit across the school will concentrate on Design and Technology, with links to Chemical Science. The focus for the units will be on food and fibre production with a different emphasis for each level: Prep - Year 2 will look at how plants and animals produce food and fibre; Years 3-4 will look at modern and traditional forms of production; and Years 5-6 will investigate the production of food and fibre in managed environments.
Best wishes for a lovely week.
Catherine
Dear parents and caretakers,
This term the Year 6 Social Justice Team has chosen to support a Victorian charity, “300 Blankets”. They provide blankets and other necessities for people at risk of, or who are already homeless. As the weather is getting colder and winter has arrived, we believe this is the perfect time to donate to 300 Blankets. This charity also helps run the ‘Homelessness Outreach Program’, ‘Soul Kitchen’ and ‘Iceolation’.
Items that we are asking families to donate that will be extremely helpful include:
- Socks, men or women (thick socks or explorer socks with darker colours preferred)
- Men’s underwear (trunks)
- Women’s underwear (briefs)
Toiletries including:
- Aerosol deodorant
- Dental hygiene products (toothpaste and toothbrushes)
- Men’s razors
- Hotel size shampoos, body wash and conditioner
We would like to receive your donations by Friday the 17th of June. There will be a basket inside each year level for donations.
Thank you for your support,
The Social Justice Team
