School Improvement Surveys
In 2019, our school is participating in Catholic Education Melbourne School Improvement Surveys (CEMSIS). CEMSIS is an annual process where schools listen to the thoughts and feelings that students, families and staff have about how their school can improve. These surveys help inform the ongoing improvement of schools across the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
One of the main goals of the family survey is to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in our school. CEMSIS data benefits everyone within our school and provides valuable community insights on areas that each school can focus on. Our school believes it is important to encourage families to have a voice and contribute to shaping the ongoing improvement of the school.
The survey is available online, can be accessed from Monday 2 September and needs to be completed by Friday 20 September. This survey may only be completed once.
For families where there may be more than one child attending our school, we ask that families focus on the eldest child attending the school. The school will invite many families to respond via this survey and participation is completely voluntary. There are no "right" or "wrong" answers – all responses are completely anonymous and at no point are any of the responses from students, families or staff identifiable by the school. Families will be chosen at random to complete the survey and a link will be sent out on Monday 2nd September. A selection of students from Years 4-6 will also complete the survey as well as all staff members. We appreciate your participation and feedback.
Skipping Champions - What a great way to keep active and fit.
Last Sunday a group of our skipping enthusiasts, represented St Paul’s at the State Skipping Championships.
They represented the school well, both in their behaviour and attitude to the competition, for which we are very proud. Here are some of the results:
Partner Speed Skip

Bridie and Darby Collis - gold medal
30sec Speed Skip
Sophie Mandile - gold medal
Freestyle
Bridie and Darby Collis - silver medal
It was a long day, starting in Melton fairly early, battling the roads in the wind and rain. But a worthwhile day to spend with our girls. Congratulations to Eve Morphett, Abby McLachlan, Sophie Mandile, Darby Collis, Bridie Collis and Maddie Di Conza.
Welcome to Book Week 2019 as we celebrate over the next two weeks the theme:
‘Reading is my Secret Power’
This Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday students and families are welcome to visit the Library to view the wonderful selection of books on sale from Lamont.
Despina will be on hand to help students with their selections and will have the Library open each morning before and after school for sales. If parents would like to call in during the day they are most welcome. Lamont are generous in donating back a percentage of the takings for the school to purchase new books.
P&F Function: Bingo Disco
On Friday night the P&F held their major fundraiser:the Bingo Disco night and it was a huge success! Everyone got into the spirit of the night dressing up in their best 70’s, 80’s and 90’s gear. There was a strong sense of community and great support for all the items up for auction. The outstanding artwork was once again well sought after and brought in some enthusiastic bidding. Thank you to Marisa Manakis and Donna Campbell for all their hard work and creativity! The main event organiser Georgie McMahon did a wonderful job for the second year in a row and we thank her for all her hard work and many hours that ensured the success of the evening. Thank you to her team and all the parents helping out on the night and before and after the event.
Thank you for the generosity of our amazing parent community! The Year 1 students love their new tables, especially the ones that double as a whiteboard! Great for guided reading.
Head Hunters Program
Thank you to all the parents who have responded to the Head Hunters Program. We still have 11 families who have not responded on Caremonkey. The notification has been sent out again and parents are able to respond by the end of this week. After this time a non response will mean that your child will be included in the program. Could those families who have indicated that they do not want their child included in the program please follow up with an email to me. Many thanks.
SRC
Congratulations to the students who have been elected as SRC members by their peers for Semester 2. Mr Dooley has begun working with the team who will meet regularly.
