Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for a wonderful first term at St. Paul’s. It has definitely been a very long term but a very successful and enjoyable one.
I’d like to thank the staff for their dedication and commitment to each student here at St. Paul’s. The students are very lucky to have such wonderful teachers. I hope they enjoy their well deserved break and come back refreshed and energised for Term 3.
Thank you also to all the St. Paul’s parent community. As I’ve said before, St. Paul’s community is very welcoming and the support towards the school is incredible. Thank you for all you do for St. Paul’s and the support you all give the teachers. Education is a partnership and the partnership is truly visible.
The past week has seen staff finalise the student’s Semester One reports which you should have received last week. The reports provide us with an opportunity to gain real insight into the progress the students at St Paul’s are making both, academically, socially and sometimes behaviourally. As I was reading the reports, I was reminded of how busy school can be. Not only are children taught to do the basics but we are also required to teach and assess:
- Social skills
- Organisational skills
- Interpersonal skills - how to manage and be responsible for their own learning, to reflect on their learning, ability to think creatively, reason, process information and reflect on their thinking
- ICT skills
- Extra-curricular activities
As a staff, we are very proud of the progress and results of the children and as parents, you should be too. For some of you, the reports may be a little confronting as they might address areas that need further work or development. These could include academic, social, behavioural, or interpersonal skills and can be regarded as an opportunity for improvement. I am particularly proud of the achievements of all children, from the Prep children who have only been here for 6 months all the way through to our Year Sixes, who are about to embark on their final semester at St Paul’s. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their thorough preparation of these reports.
The Term 3 calendar is attached, please note that the date of the School Concert is still being finalised for Week 8, but we hope to have this confirmed by the end of the week.
Enjoy your school holidays and I look forward to hearing all about them when we return to school for Term Three on Monday 21st July.
Kind regards,
Jussahra Treagus

Confirmation Rehearsal
We were given the privilege of being chosen to read at St. Patrick's Cathedral for the special sacrament of Confirmation. Last Monday we got to go to St. Patrick's Cathedral to practice reading with St Peter’s and St Catherine’s schools. We got on a minibus and headed for the Cathedral. We drove past Tiger Land, AAMI Park and many other interesting attractions. When we arrived at the Cathedral we took many beautiful photos which are displayed below. We admired the charming structure from inside and out.
We met the sacristan, Clarence, who explained to us about the special service. We practiced our lines and our seating formations. Finally we rode back to school with the other schools as company. We are really looking forward to doing this special sacrament next term.
You are all invited to join us at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Sunday the 27th of July at 2pm.
Thank you,
Loretta and Emma

Today the Wellbeing team went to the kindergarten, we had two or three buddies and played with them for an hour. We played tag, hide and seek, painting and lots of other things. The kindergarten students had so much fun playing with the Year 6’s. We had lots of fun and enjoyed getting to know them.

Hello Everybody,
This is Finlay and Lucca from the Wellbeing team and we are here to tell you about our trip to the Kindergarten near our school today!
Firstly we met the kindergarten kids and introduced ourselves and got to know them, and we learnt a lot about them as they showed us around their kindergarten. We each got two or three buddies to hang out with and play with. We played many activities including trampoline, basketball, soccer, footy, make believe, swing, lego, drawing and climbing on the climbing frame.

This semester we had lots of fun in the Wellbeing team. We were in charge of gathering chocolates for the Easter Raffle and we got to be Friend-o-leaders which means that we got to help students solve their friendship problems at recess and lunch time. We also got to go to the Kindergarten twice to visit the students. We got to play with our kinder buddies and they got to show us around. It has been very fun working with my peers in the Wellbeing team during this semester.

I was in the Wellbeing team and we went to the Kindergarten this term. They were so cute and loved to have us. They said they were looking forward to us coming the whole day. We were paired up with one to three of them and they showed us around their kinder. We played on the swing, with magnets, in the sandpit and so much more. There was even a trampoline! We are so lucky we were able to visit them two times this semester. As well as going to the kinder. the Wellbeing team were also Friend-o-leaders every lunch and recess. Three to four of us walked around with lanyards and younger students came up to us if they needed help with their friendships. It was all so fun and i'm so sad it's over. Next term we'll be in a new leadership team.

As we get ready for a fun and creative Term 3, we’re asking families to collect a few household items over the school holidays that will be used in various classroom activities. If you have any of the following to spare, we’d love your help:
- Egg cartons – clean and dry, any size
- Spray bottles – such as from hair detangler or cleaning products (please rinse well)
- Unused yarn, wool, or embroidery thread – any colours or leftovers you’re happy to part with
- Newspaper or Magazines – clean and suitable for craft use
Donations can be brought to the Art Room.
Thanks for your support in helping us reuse and recycle! Have a lovely break.
