Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had quite a few new families through the school in the past few weeks doing school tours. The school tour has two sections, a meeting with myself and then a personalised tour around the school led by the Year 6’s. I want to congratulate the Year 6 students on the fantastic job they’ve done in this role. The feedback from visiting families has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on how confidently the students spoke and how proud they are of their school. This is truly wonderful feedback and a testament to the leadership and school spirit of our senior students. We will begin to process the enrolments for 2026 in the next couple of weeks.
I think we can all safely say that the warmer weather is unfortunately behind us, and the cooler temperatures are here to stay as we head into Winter. During the warmer weeks at the beginning of the term, we were relaxed about which uniform students were wearing. However, as of last week, I addressed the importance of wearing the correct uniform with students during Monday’s assembly. All students are now expected to wear their full Winter uniform to school. We are still seeing a mix of Summer and Winter uniform items, and while this was acceptable earlier in the term, we now ask that all students wear the complete Winter uniform. This includes the correct school socks (with no logos), school shoes (not runners), and no jewellery except for plain studs/sleepers or a religious necklace. Also a reminder about jumpers too. The v-neck woollen jumper should be worn with the Winter uniform only. There are a few students wearing their sports crew tops with the Winter uniform and this should only be worn with the Sport uniform.
Winter sport uniform includes:
- Red long sleeve St Paul's polo
- Blue/Navy tracksuit pants (school shorts are able to be worn under tracksuit pants on sports days)
- White socks
- Runners (any colour)
- Optional: St Pauls crew jumper (not the knitted V neck jumper)
- Optional: St Paul's jacket
School Winter Uniform
Optional 1:
- Blue long sleeve St Paul's polo (no short sleeves)
- St Paul's pinafore dress
- St Paul's navy socks or navy blue tights
- Black school shoes
- Optional: St Paul's knitted v neck jumper (not the sports crew neck)
- Optional: St Paul's jacket
Optional 2:
- Blue long sleeve St Paul's polo (no short sleeves)
- Navy blue school pants (no shorts)
- St Paul's navy socks
- Black school shoes
- Optional: St Paul's knitted v neck jumper (not the sports crew neck)
- Optional: St Paul's jacket
With uniforms a hot topic of discussion among the students, I have been asked about scarves, hats and gloves. These accessories are allowed to be worn if your child feels the cold however, we ask that you purchase these in school colours. With AFL and other sporting codes very popular at the moment, it is becoming a trend to wear your footy team’s scarf to school, especially if they have had a win over the weekend. These are not part of the school uniform and students will be asked to remove them if they are worn. I am very happy for the students to wear the Big Freeze beanies for the next few weeks in support of the MND charity.
This week, the P&F will be holding the annual school disco. Excitement is already building, and from what I’ve heard, it sounds like it will be a fantastic night! A big thank you to the P&F for organising this event and to the many parent volunteers who have offered to help out on the night. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Just a reminder that this Friday is a student free day. As mentioned in our last newsletter, our staff will be undertaking professional development in the area of Writing. I hope families enjoy their long weekends and we look forward to seeing students back on Tuesday 10th June after the King’s birthday holiday on Monday.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Jussahra Treagus

Junior Playground Plans Are Underway!
We are thrilled to share that, thanks to the amazing fundraising efforts of our Parents and Friend’s Association, St Paul’s will be getting a brand-new junior playground! We are incredibly grateful for their support and are hopeful that the new playground can be designed and installed later this year.
At St Paul’s, we value student voice and believe it’s important that our students have a say in shaping their school experience. Our SRC met last week to begin brainstorming ideas for what makes an amazing playground – from the features they love to the things they would like to avoid.
We can’t wait to see what creative and exciting ideas come to life.
Watch this space – the playground journey has just begun!!
National Reconciliation Week at St Paul’s
This week at St Paul’s, we came together as a school community to acknowledge National Reconciliation Week (a special time for all Australians to reflect on our shared histories, cultures and achievements). It's also an opportunity to think about how each of us can contribute to building a more just, equitable and united Australia.
The theme for 2025 is ‘Bridging Now to Next’, which reminds us of the importance of connecting the past, present and future. It encourages us to learn from our history, celebrate how far we have come and keep moving forward together on the journey of reconciliation.
Our wonderful Year 6 leaders began the week with a beautiful assembly. They led us in special Prayers of the Faithful, which helped us reflect on the meaning of this week. A highlight was hearing everyone sing the Aboriginal Lord’s Prayer together, creating a moment of unity and reverence.
Throughout the week, each class has found a unique and meaningful way to honour Reconciliation Week. Through stories, art, prayer and discussion which helped our students deepen their understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
We are proud of how our students have embraced the spirit of reconciliation and shown care, compassion and a willingness to learn and grow together.

There was a real buzz of excitement at Monday’s assembly when we announced that the park will once again be open during lunchtimes!
This means students from Years 3–6 will have the chance to enjoy some fun, fresh air and free play on the grass, using a variety of sports equipment. We know how important physical activity is for growing minds and bodies and we are thrilled to have this much-loved space open again.
To keep things fair and fun, Year 5 and 6 students will have access to the Park on Tuesdays, while Year 3 and 4 students can enjoy it on Thursdays.
A big thank you to the teachers who have generously taken on extra yard duties to make this possible!

Year 3 Science – Solids, Liquids and Lots of Fun!
There was a real sense of excitement in the staff room last week as our curious Year 3 students got hands-on with their Science investigations into solids and liquids. The young scientists explored how different materials change and react.
But don’t just take our word for it! Read below for a fantastic recount from the wonderful Genevieve and Jack in 3A.
We love seeing our students so engaged and excited about learning – Great job Year 3!

Wellbeing Team Visits Local Kinder!
Last term, Miss Wira and the Wellbeing team gathered together to talk about all the different things we wanted to do as a group this semester. One of them was to visit the local kindergarten to build a connection with the local community as well as be positive role models to the young children.
Some of us got to write a letter to the kinder to ask if we could come. Luckily we were told yes! On Monday 19th May, the Wellbeing team took a trip to the Higgins Road Kindergarten, where we were greeted by a bunch of lovely 3 and 4 year olds. Each year six students got teamed up with one or two kinder students to play with. Lots of students from St Paul’s actually used to go to this kindergarten, so it brought back great memories.
We loved teaching the kinder students how to share and behave appropriately. We all loved the toys and learning how the kinder works. It was an amazing experience and we hope we get to go back soon to visit.

Staff First Aid and CPR Training
At St Paul’s, the safety and wellbeing of our students is always a top priority. We are pleased to share that our staff have recently completed updated training in CPR and First Aid.
This essential training ensures our team is well-prepared to respond effectively and confidently in the event of a medical emergency. From managing minor injuries in the playground to responding to more serious health concerns, having up-to-date knowledge and skills makes a real difference.
Regularly refreshing this training not only supports a safe school environment but also strengthens our commitment to the care and protection of every child. It’s part of how we continue to upskill our staff and maintain the highest standards of student safety and wellbeing.
We thank our dedicated staff for taking part in this important professional learning.
Catholic Kids began at St Peter’s Lighthouse on May 18 and will continue fortnightly during school terms at 9:30am each Sunday. For more information, contact the parish admin centre at officeholytrinityparish@cam.org.au
Feedback from the first session:
"Our first session was a great success! Many new friends joined us as we dived straight into our focus topic: Prayer. We explored what, why, when, where, and how to pray, and a corresponding craft activity helped reinforce our understanding, making for an enjoyable and engaging day. We can't wait for the next session and we look forward to meeting more families!"
