Yayoi Kusama - Japan's 'Dotty' Contemporary Artist coming to the National Gallery of Victoria
This term the Preps, 1s and 2s have been learning about modern Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama who "Covered Everything in Dots and Wasn't Sorry". On December 15, an exhibition of some her work is coming to Melbourne and will be on display at the National Gallery of Victoria until April 21. The exhibition includes paintings, sculpture, collage, fashion and immersive mirror infinity rooms and covers the entire ground floor of the NGV. It's not 'art for children', but children tend to respond to Yayoi's work because it is so colourful and engaging. Highly recommended by a Sensei who can't wait to go and see it herself.
