First Eucharist
First Eucharist
Last Saturday, 10th August, marked the final celebration of the First Eucharist Masses for the students. The church was filled with excitement and reverence as each child received the sacrament for the first time. Families gathered to witness this significant milestone in their children's spiritual journey, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere. The ceremony was beautifully conducted, with hymns and prayers adding to the sense of sacredness and joy. It was a memorable occasion, highlighting the importance of faith and community in the lives of the young participants.
Here are a few thoughts from the First Eucharist students:

It was really nice that my family came. My friends and I were complimenting each other on our outfits; we all looked fabulous and gorgeous! I really like Fr Shane because he was sharing stories about his life and how it related to the stories of Jesus. Fr Shane made us reflect on how we felt after we received the host for the first time.

I loved how everyone made an effort to dress up nicely. We were all very nervous and it was nice to see everyone smiling at Fr Shane and had a positive attitude. His stories were great to listen to and he included a lot in his homily. It was really special receiving the host and it gave you a warm feeling inside.

I was very cautious of my candle. I love how we got to walk slowly up the aisle and I got to hold the wine because I took up the gifts with Sophie.

I was nervous because I’ve never received the host before and I’ve never walked up the aisle during mass before. The bread tasted like oats. It felt like a very special day all dressed up.

It felt like a wedding because everyone was so dressed up and looked wonderful. When I received the host I felt nervous because I thought I might do something wrong when I was up there. Fr Shane made us all feel very relaxed when we went up to receive the host.
