By way of introduction, my name is Ed Byrne. Julie and I have Finlay in Grade Two and have been at St Pauls for a number of years now. 

Circa 2005, Cameron Dunlop started a St Pauls Dad's Group, initially as a Dads catchup once a month and then growing to include football games, fishing trips, golf days, together with a general sense of helping others in need and the School during the year.

I am Convenor of this role from a Dad's perspective for this year. 

We have a database of some 180 Dads, together with another 60 odd former parents, and my aim is to gather as many Dads at these events during the year.

First Dads Night – Bentleigh Bowls Club, (Higgins directly opposite the school entry) from 7pm.

Thursday night’s Parents Welcome night is a must go event – one of the highlights of the year from a parents perspective. 

Directly after this event, we will hosting our first Dad's Night at the Bentleigh Bowls Club, directly adjacent to the Higgins Road Park, from 7 pm. 

The Dad's nights will be on the first Thursday of the month for the remainder of the year.

I highly recommend coming along. I have made many great friends through the St Paul's community. As a parent of older kids, Ill let you know that at High School your kids will not allow you on the school grounds and also request to be dropped 200 metres from school…so make the most of the Primary School community is my advice!

GRADE CONVENORS DADS GROUP

This year, I am seeking Convenors for each Grade. The role is simple: to assist greater involvement in each Grade across the School, both in participation and verbal marketing of upcoming Dads night but also the number of events held during the year. It also ensures that we have a reasonable cross section of helpers during the year. If this of interest to you, please email me your details and I will contact you directly. The aim is to have two dads per year level.
