Catherine's News Term 4 Week 4
Dear Parents,
What a week it has been! I feel very proud and enormous gratitude to the staff, students and parents at St Paul’s.
Last Thursday night we celebrated our school Concert and I would like to thank those parents who have sent emails of appreciation to the staff for the amazing effort that went into producing such a wonderful school event. Every child had the opportunity to shine as they worked together over many weeks rehearsing dance steps and songs to produce a memorable experience for all. Thank you to Anne-Maree Kolodziej our extraordinary performing arts teacher, to the creative Mrs Fitz who prepared props, to Cath Knights our tech wizard who worked on sound and lighting, to our classroom teachers who demonstrated their creativity and flair for creating amazing choreography, to our Specialists and LSO’s for their continued support and encouragement and help backstage and to OLSH who generously provided us with a great venue. Thank you also to Anna and Mary who organised tickets and communication and were always available to help with organisation. School concerts build memories that will stay with students for many years to come and give us the opportunity to celebrate music, dance and performance. Congratulations to all our talented students and to our parents who are always there to support us!
FETE
What a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community generously work together. We were certainly blessed with great weather and lots of eager shoppers, fabulous stalls and happy children and families. Another huge success.
The 2019 Fete Committee headed up by the amazing skills and generosity of Chrisa Anastasio ensured the success of the day.

Courtney Miller has done a tremendous job this year, with her skill set and persistence she has raised $10,100 from our community sponsors. Courtney’s aim was also to build a longer relationship between us and the sponsors which I believe she has achieved. Not only did our platinum sponsor (Jellis Craig) provide financial support, they also included a Gelato Cart (worth $1500 and colouring competition prizes worth $300).
We are certainly seeing the benefits in our efforts in revamping and refining our sponsorship package. Thank you Courtney for taking on the sponsorship role.
The fete this year raised an outstanding $48,000!
Prep Information Night 2020
This Thursday night 31st October is our Prep 2020 information night. It begins at 7:30pm and will be held in the junior multi-purpose area.
Classes for Next Year
Term 4 brings with it a wonderful buzz as we draw closer to the end of the school year. The warmer weather is here and the excitement of new class groupings and opportunities for the year ahead have begun. Teachers are in the process of allocating students into classes for 2020. For many students change can bring about anxiety and concern of the unknown. However, it is also a wonderful opportunity to build resilience and a growth mindset which often starts at home.
As you can imagine, many hours go into planning class groupings so that students are supported and given the best opportunities to learn and grow.
If you have any particular concerns about your child’s transition or placement next year please contact me via email this week. This does not include requesting teachers.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
World Teachers Day
Today we will be celebrating World Teachers Day with the staff of St Paul’s. I would like to invite parents and children to make a card ‘Let Gratitude be Your Attitude’ for a staff member or teacher who has made a difference in the life of their child. This is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of our staff to the students and families. Cards can be left at the front Office.
Intentions for 2020
If your child is not returning to St Paul’s in 2020 please contact me via email as soon as possible. We are currently working on class lists and have a waiting list in many classes.
Long Weekend
A reminder that the long weekend is coming up with Monday 4 November a School closure Day and Tuesday 5 November, Cup Day.
Swimming Program
The Aqua Star Learn to Swim Schools Program begins in Week 6 for the Yr 4-6 and in Week 7 for the P-3 students. Today you will receive a form to be completed on your child’s swimming ability which will be used as a guide for initial groupings. Further assessment will take place on the first day. Students are asked to come to school dressed in their bathers underneath sports uniforms for the week. A Caremonkey notification will go out this week with further details.
Enjoy the long weekend!
