Juss' News
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for a wonderful first term at St. Paul’s. It has definitely been a very long term but a very successful and enjoyable one.
I’d like to thank the staff for their dedication and commitment to each student here at St. Paul’s. The students are very lucky to have such wonderful teachers. I hope they enjoy their well deserved break and come back refreshed and energised for Term 3.
Thank you also to all the St. Paul’s parent community. As I’ve said before, St. Paul’s community is very welcoming and the support towards the school is incredible. Thank you for all you do for St. Paul’s and the support you all give the teachers. Education is a partnership and the partnership is truly visible.
The past week has seen staff finalise the student’s Semester One reports which you should have received last week. The reports provide us with an opportunity to gain real insight into the progress the students at St Paul’s are making both, academically, socially and sometimes behaviourally. As I was reading the reports, I was reminded of how busy school can be. Not only are children taught to do the basics but we are also required to teach and assess:
- Social skills
- Organisational skills
- Interpersonal skills - how to manage and be responsible for their own learning, to reflect on their learning, ability to think creatively, reason, process information and reflect on their thinking
- ICT skills
- Extra-curricular activities
As a staff, we are very proud of the progress and results of the children and as parents, you should be too. For some of you, the reports may be a little confronting as they might address areas that need further work or development. These could include academic, social, behavioural, or interpersonal skills and can be regarded as an opportunity for improvement. I am particularly proud of the achievements of all children, from the Prep children who have only been here for 6 months all the way through to our Year Sixes, who are about to embark on their final semester at St Paul’s. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their thorough preparation of these reports.
The Term 3 calendar is attached, please note that the date of the School Concert is still being finalised for Week 8, but we hope to have this confirmed by the end of the week.
Enjoy your school holidays and I look forward to hearing all about them when we return to school for Term Three on Monday 21st July.
Kind regards,
Jussahra Treagus
