Juss' News
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to be able to share with you that I will be staying on as a Principal at St. Paul’s next term. This brings valuable continuity and stability to our school community as we build on the strong foundations laid in Term 2. I thank everyone for making me feel so welcome and for their continued support.
In the last newsletter I outlined expectations around our school uniform. I thank everyone for their support in this area. There have been a few questions regarding the sport uniform and the soft shell jacket. On sport days, the students may wear the long or short sleeve red polo top as per the uniform policy. The soft shell jacket may be worn with either the sport or school uniform and this will be added to the uniform policy.
Last Friday the staff engaged in professional development focused on improving our teaching and learning practices in Writing. Teachers from Prep to Year 6 spent the day deepening their understanding of current best practices in writing instruction. We explored strategies to ensure that students are writing regularly and with purpose across all year levels. As we move through the year, we will be placing a strong focus on narrative and persuasive writing. We are excited to see our students developing their skills and confidence as writers and we look forward to them sharing their work with you.
Each year MACS releases an annual report. Feel free to download it and have a read.
Kind regards,
Jussahra Treagus
Cold and Flu season
As we move through the Winter season, we are noticing a number of students coming to school unwell, showing cold and flu symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, watery eyes, and/or a fever.
In order to protect the health of our school community, it is important that we all remain vigilant in monitoring these symptoms. If your child is unwell, we kindly ask that you keep them at home to rest and recover. This helps prevent the spread of illness and ensures that students can return to school ready to engage and learn.
