Dear Parents,
Happy Mothers Day! I hope all our mothers had the best day filled with hugs and gifts of appreciation. Three cheers for our mums too and to all who show a mother's love.
A special thanks to Danny Maher and Anna who bought all the food for a spectacular Mother’s Day breakfast and to all the dads who were up early to set up tables and cook breakfast for us all. It was wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate.
Grade 1 Prayers in Pyjamas
On Wednesday night we celebrated all things Prayer with our Grade 1 students and Parents. It was a fantastic evening and thank you to all who attended. We hope this evening has provided you with more ways you can engage in Prayer at home.

Confirmation
Tonight we welcome the parents of students receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation to an information evening. The evening will begin at 7pm in the Hall and will be hosted by Fr Ellio Capra. It is expected that one parent from each family will attend. We look forward to seeing you there.
NAPLAN
This week students in Yr 3 and Yr 5 will sit their NAPLAN tests.
Tuesday - Language Conventions and Writing
Wednesday - Reading
Thursday - Numeracy
The assessment provides parents and schools with an understanding of how individual students are performing at the time of the tests. The tests will be pen and paper. NAPLAN is just one aspect of a school’s assessment and reporting process – it does not replace ongoing assessments made by teachers about student performance. NAPLAN also provides schools, education authorities and governments with information about how education programs are working and whether young Australians are achieving important educational outcomes in literacy and numeracy. The students have been well prepared and we wish them all the best.
Grandparents' Morning
Thursday 20th May is our Grandparents and those special in our children's lives morning. The morning begins with Mass in the church at 9am. Once the children are seated, grandparents and special guests can sit with their grandchildren. At approximately 9:45am our special visitors visit the classrooms. Morning tea will then be served in the school hall at 10:30am and the morning concludes at approximately 11am.
Have a great week,
Catherine
Genius Hour Project
After a great deal of planning, discussion, research and collaborating, our Cubby House is almost complete.
I brought together 10 students from Years 5 & 6 to let them choose what they would like to do for the school. It was almost unanimous!
'We want to build a Cubby House'.
Thanks to a $1000 donation from Bendigo Bank and the wonderful support of Aidan O'Shannessy and his company 'Nine in Six', our project became real last week.
Thanks to Brad the apprentice, and some expert assistance from Aidan, we had the best fun!
If anyone has any suitable cubby ‘accessories’ please contact the Office.
Painting was completed and we can't wait to get in!
